The series consists of six episodes, each presenting two different stories about individuals and what home means to them. Stories range from a Colombian woman who has lived most of her life in Iceland and wants to be seen as an Icelander rather than a foreigner, to a young man who chose to move on his own from the city to an isolated farm in the Icelandic countryside.

Heima first aired on Sjónvarp Símans in November 2022 and continues to be available on their on demand streaming platform.
